“The lazy days of summer”

The late summer & the early part of fall are always my favourite time of year. Flowers are in full bloom, there are very few mosquitos, the weather is not too humid & the cool nights make for enjoyable sleeping.

I hope & trust that you’re all taking advantage of this fabulous time of year to just lay back, relax, reflect & enjoy good times with your family & friends. With curling season just around the corner, there are just a few items I wanted to fill you in on. Check out the details below to see what we’ve been up to this summer:

HCC’s Open House- Wine & Cheese– September 13th

Save the Date!!!!! After lots of discussion and input, the Board has decided to proceed with our traditional Wine and Cheese get together on September 13th– from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Drop by the Club and sample beer selections offered by several craft breweries, take a look at our updated line of wearing apparel (and put your order in), visit the Pro Shop to see what is new in curling equipment for this year and, most importantly, find out what your curling buddies have been up to over the summer.

As was the case in past years, there is no charge for this event. For more information contact Peter Smith at manager@huntleycurling.ca.

New Huntley Curling Club Apparel

This year we are happy to announce we are doing HCC Apparel so our members can sport their HCC pride on & off the ice! Come out early to the Open House for your first look at the new apparel & a chance to try on sizes. Order ASAP so you can enjoy your new gear at the very start of the curling season.

Member Charlene Johnston is spearheading this initiative.

New appointment to HCC’s Board of Directors

I’m pleased to announce that Ruth Dagenais has agreed to accept the secretary position on our clubs board of directors. Ruth’s fresh ideas & forward-thinking will be warmly welcomed as we steer the club forward.

Registration

If you haven’t registered for the upcoming season there is no time like the present. Registration is easier than ever with our online registration system and our membership portal.

Early registration helps the board make sure that everything is in place for the upcoming season. If you have any troubles please feel free to reach out to our membership director David Bird.

HCC’s website gets a makeover

Take a few minutes to explore our websites new design. The club owes a great deal of thanks to Andrea Leganchuk for her time, effort and talents in making our website more functional and membership friendly.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and I’ll look forward to seeing everyone at the club for our Open House on Fri. Sept. 13th, 2019.
