Leslie Waddell, a Founding and Honorary HCC member, passed away July 5, 2026. Les was a longstanding member who freely volunteered his time making many significant contributions to the club. For several years on the Ice Team he helped make and maintain our ice. He and his best friend and wife of 54 years Judith assisted with various events, including teaching Little Rocks and delivery of the “Learn to Curl” program to beginners.
Les was the consummate gentleman, an avid reader and a gifted storyteller - a friend to all. He was a skilled curler who enjoyed the competitive side of the game as well as the social aspects. When his team played in the Ottawa Valley league, his first question wasn’t "who are we playing", it was "where are we going for lunch?” His welcoming personality made making friends easy for him. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Kinburn Community Centre from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All are welcome, just as Les would have wanted it.
