Congratulations to the 2026 Winner: Team JM Menard
(Reported by Cory Mundy)
The 3rd Carp Classic since its return was huge success. Toogoods Kitchen provided players with fantastic food throughout the weekend and we topped it off with one of the best washing machine hip of beefs I think we’ve ever had. Zach Martin and Rick Pichard came out to play music and entertain the teams, which was a big hit.
We hosted 20 teams from 13 clubs from across the region. The competition was better then ever as teams fought their way to be best in there pool and earn a playoff spot. After some great games and all the rocks settled we were able to award a champion. JM Menard was victorious in winning the “A” division and declared Spiel Champs. It was a great honour to have had him in attendance this year as he will also be going to the brier in a few weeks. Unfortunately our Huntley teams weren’t able to make it to the playoffs this year but they definitely represented our club well and should be proud of themselves. We did have our own Mark Leger and his senior men’s team out of Brockville make it to the C finals.
We wish to thank Lorne Rice for attending and presenting the trophy to the champions. Lorne was the founder of the Carp Classic event and is an esteemed Honourary Member of HCC.
I would like to thank all our sponsors for the contributions. Without them we wouldn’t be able to provide the event that we. I would also like to say a bigger thank you than I think possible to all the volunteers. You all make the event happen. Without all your support and help I would wouldn’t be able to do any of it.
