This past weekend marks the 2nd Carp Classic since its return, and it did not disappoint. We expanded this year by hosting 24 teams at our club all looking for their piece of the $12,000 prize money. Whitney Toogood did a fantastic job and provided us with some amazing meals over the course of the entire weekend. Participants were blown away by our new addition of the Plinko board (built by Eric Le Bolloch) to help with fund raising. Cheers were heard across the club and people cheered the little disks as they fell hoping to win a beverage from the bar.
Our Huntley teams did their best with Team (Marc) Tremblay and Team (Rob) Telka able to make it to the 2nd round where they unfortunately fell short of making the playoffs. After some exciting playoff games on Sunday, we finally had our winners in Team Lewis. Our own Lorne Rice, one of the founders of the Carp Classic, was in attendance to help hand out the trophy.
In all the weekend was a huge success for our club. Which was only possible with our great sponsors and the incredible help of all our volunteers. Thank you all for the support.

FORMAT
- 24 teams - 6 pools of 4 teams.
- First round – 3-match Round Robin within each pool. All teams will perform a single button draw at the end of each match, sweeping by team-mates only, with measurements tallied for total button draw scores over 3 matches. Measurements will be completed by event officials.
- Second round – 16 teams advance from Round 1, including top 2 teams from each pool plus 4 from 3 rd place teams. Tiebreakers for top 2 teams are based on head-to-head record followed by button draw scores, 3 rd place teams are ranked based on win record followed by button draw scores.
Team 1 vs Team 16, Team 2 vs Team 15, etc. Single knockout this round. - Quarter finals – 8 teams advance from Round 2 - all will win prize money.
Team 1 vs Team 8, Team 2 vs Team 7, etc, ranking based on button draw scores. Winners advance to A/B semis, losers to C/D semis. - Semi-Finals
- 4 teams compete for A/B, winners advance to A, losers to B
- 4 teams compete for C/D, winners advance to C, losers to D
- Finals
- 2 A-teams, 2 B-teams, 2 C-teams, 2 D-teams compete for cash prizes.
RULES:
- 8-end matches, 5-rock FGZ applies.
- The No-Tick rule will apply
- Round robin games may end in a tie
- 2nd round/playoffs will have extra ends in case of a tie
- Teams flip (any version) for hammer or rock colour (round robin play)
- 2nd round/playoffs higher ranked team will have choice of hammer or rock colour
- Teams may concede at any time.
- Rankings based on W/L record, head to head, draw to button score
